Dr. Townsend is a Clinton native. He graduated 1st in his class at Clinton High School. He finished both college and medical school in six years at the University of Missouri - Kansas City and received additional residency training in Family Medicine at Kansas University Medical Center.
During his education, Dr. Townsend trained at KU Medical Center, St. Lukes, Research, Menorrah, Truman, Childrens Mercy, Shawnee Mission, Providence, Bethany and VA Medical Centers. He continues to have close relationships with many of those hospitals creating a vast referral network for your potential needs.
Dr. Townsend has been in continuous private practice for more than 30 years. He has successfully owned and run his own clinic for more that 25 years. He has staff privileges at Golden Valley Hospital and his referral network includes Kansas City hospitals as well as Belton, Harrisonville, Sedalia and Warrensburg.
Your insurance company may provide you with a free of charge annual physical which could include lab work and other testing. Check with your insurance company to find out what services are provided free of charge.
We are a small single physician practice. We have a large waiting room with few people waiting at any one time. This makes it less likely for you to come into contact with germs than you would from a larger practice.
As a solo practice, our office has a small but ample parking lot with a short walk to get into the building and few cars to navigate around. You will find that our office is quiet and simple to access while being fully handicap accessible.
Our practice is completely owned by the physician. He has no corporate boss telling him how many patients he has to see each day or how little time he can spend with each patient. You will get the time you need.
Most people do not know that hospital owned practices may cost you more. They are allowed higher reimbursement rates which means your out of pocket portion could be higher. Your out of pocket costs with us should be lower.
No worries. If you have no health insurance, we have programs that will allow you to be seen whenver you need. Ask about our small monthly payment plan which will allow you to be seen whenever necessary.
It is important that a physician spends the time to listen to you and to take the time to get to know you. That is the only way to build the trust it takes to have a successful relationship. We have modeled our practice on a small country doctor's practice from times past. We treat our patients like family. Our hours are limited to keep costs down but we are available to see our patients whenever they need us, seeing patients on weekends and holidays when necessary. Dr. Townsend is available for local house calls if you are unable to get out, just like the old fashioned country doctors that some of us grew up with.
